Serving in the Church

When anyone enters into church membership in the United Methodist Church, they commit to serve the church with their “prayers, presence, gifts, service, and their witness.” This means sharing your time, talents, and financial gifts with the church as well as serving the community and sharing God’s love beyond the church. Visit our Community Service page for ways to serve in the community, and explore ways you can serve within the church below.

Church Governance

Our church is governed by teams of volunteers. Generally, each governance committee holds monthly meetings in the evenings. If you are feeling called to serve on one of the following committees, please contact us.

Get Involved with Music

At Christ United Methodist Church, our music department is one thing that sets our community apart in a big way! Lead by Jaime O’Neill there are many opportunities for both amateur and professional musicians to share their gifts.

People of all abilities are welcome in any of our ensembles. Read more about our active ensembles below.

Chancel Choir

Christ United’s Chancel Choir leads the vocal music in our worship services from the front of the sanctuary (the chancel) each Sunday. They lead the congregation in hymn singing and also perform special pieces.

Glory Ringers Bell Choir

The Glory Ringers are a handbell choir that often perform along with our other ensembles or on their own for special occasions.

Brass Ensemble

The Christ United Brass Ensemble consists of tuba, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, and euphonium players who accompany congregational singing and perform on their own for special occasions.

Serenity Singers

The Serenity Singers are a small vocal music group for women that perform modern pieces for alto and soprano voices once per month during worship at Christ United.
