What to Expect

If you’re coming to Christ United for the first time, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible! Here are some tips to help you feel right at home.

Where is CUMC?

Our address is 4530 A Street in Lincoln, NE. From A Street, you can turn on either 45th or 46th Streets to enter our parking lot on the North side of the building. There is ample parking, including accessible spots and bike racks!

Entering the Church

Enter through the double doors into our Great Hall. This is the place to relax while you wait for your meeting or the worship service to start. On your left is the library and the office. Our staff are there

Monday 8:00-3:00

Tuesday-Thursday 8:00-12:00pm

Friday Closed

On the right are the restrooms, Meeting Rooms, and Family Life Center.

Inside CUMC

As you walk through the Great Hall, the entrance to the sanctuary is on your left. On Sunday mornings, ushers will be there to greet you and make sure you get a bulletin that includes all prayers and songs for the service.

Worship Services

Our 10:00 a.m. worship is what we like to call “Classical.” On Sundays the congregation is accompanied by our pipe organ as we sing songs from the United Methodist Hymnal. We have special musical pieces led by our Brass Ensemble and Glory Ringers bell choir. The service includes prayers, scripture readings, and a message our pastor, Andy Frazier. Services are typically 45-65 minutes long.

Holy Communion

On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion. All United Methodist Churches celebrate an “open table.” This means that everyone of any age is welcome to receive communion. You don’t have to be a member of our church or any church at all; you should simply seek to find and follow Jesus in your life.

What Should I Wear?

First-time guests are curious about what they should wear to church. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in! Some of our church members dress in their Sunday best, but many wear jeans and even shorts in the summertime.
